Italian football contenders want 2% betting tax to fund revival

Giovanni Malagò and Giancarlo Abete, candidates for the presidency of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), have proposed a 2% betting tax to fund the revival of Italian football. Both contenders agree on the tax as a key measure to modernize the sport’s governance and structure. The election for the FIGC presidency is scheduled for 22 June.
