The UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has opened a consultation on how the Gambling Commission is funded. The consultation period runs until 29 March 2026 and marks the first formal Fees Review for the regulator since 2021.
According to the UK Gambling Commission, the review was committed to in the 2023 white paper to ensure the regulator has sufficient resources to fulfil its core duties and commitments linked to the Gambling Act Review. The Commission stated it welcomes the consultation, which it expects will provide certainty on its future income for the coming years, subject to the consultation’s outcome.
