Gambling Commission Chief Executive announces departure

Andrew Rhodes, Chief Executive of the UK Gambling Commission, has announced his departure from the regulator. He will leave his post on 30 April 2026 to take up a new role, the details of which will be disclosed at a later date.

Rhodes has led the Commission for nearly five years, overseeing the implementation of the Gambling Act Review, including the introduction of financial vulnerability checks and restrictions on online game intensity and marketing offers. The UK Gambling Commission also noted his leadership in launching the Gambling Survey for Great Britain and the successful implementation of the Fourth National Lottery licence.
