Two people were arrested following a joint raid on a suspected illegal gambling den in Manchester city centre, according to the UK Gambling Commission. The operation on 28 May involved Greater Manchester Police, Gambling Commission enforcement officials, and Manchester City Council’s licensing team at a premises on Chester Road.
Authorities seized gambling tables, chips, records, account books, alcohol, cash, and mobile phones from the site. A 33-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of offences under the Gambling Act 2005 and the Licensing Act 2003.
