Rich Wilde and the Shield of Athena, released by Play’n GO on 28 May 2020, moves the Rich Wilde adventurer franchise from Book of Dead’s Egyptian backdrop to Greek mythology, with Medusa as its central figure. Unlike the cluster-pays entries elsewhere in the Rich Wilde series, it uses a classic 5-reel, 3-row layout with 10 fixed paylines, closer in structure to the original Book of Dead than to the newer Tome-branded spin-offs.

Its signature feature is random wild transformations: standard symbols can turn into wilds mid-spin and trigger a Medusa Gaze respin in which the newly-created wilds lock in place while the remaining reels spin again, letting a single trigger cascade into multiple wilds across the board.
