Casino welcome bonuses look generous until you read the wagering requirement — the number of times you must bet the bonus before any winnings become withdrawable. A “100% up to $200, 35x” offer sounds great, but 35x on the bonus means betting $7,000 before you can cash out. Use the calculator above to see the real number for any offer.

Bonus-only vs deposit + bonus wagering

The biggest factor is what the requirement applies to. Bonus only is the fairer, more common term. Deposit + bonus roughly doubles the work for the same multiplier, so always check which one an offer uses. Anything up to 30x bonus-only is player-friendly; 40x and above is steep.

Frequently asked questions

What is a wagering requirement?
A wagering (or playthrough) requirement is how many times you must bet a bonus before you can withdraw any winnings from it. "35x" means you must wager the bonus 35 times. Some casinos apply it to the bonus only; stricter ones apply it to your deposit plus the bonus.
How do I calculate wagering requirements?
Multiply the amount the requirement applies to (the bonus, or deposit + bonus) by the multiplier. Example: a £100 bonus with 35x bonus-only wagering = £100 × 35 = £3,500 you must bet. This calculator does it for you.
What is a good wagering requirement?
On bonus-only terms, anything up to 30x is player-friendly, ~35x is average, and 40x+ is steep. "Deposit + bonus" wagering is meaningfully harder to clear than "bonus only" at the same multiplier.
Does this calculator account for game weighting?
It shows the headline amount you must wager. Note that games contribute differently (slots usually 100%, table games often 10% or less), so on low-weighted games the effective playthrough can be much higher. Always read the bonus terms.
