Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead, released by Play’n GO on 26 June 2020, extends the Book of Dead universe by casting Rich Wilde’s daughter, Cat Wilde, as the lead explorer in the same Egyptian setting. Mechanically it follows the original Book of Dead’s template closely: a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 10 fixed paylines, rather than the cluster-pays structure used in some of the newer Rich Wilde spin-offs.
Its core feature is an Expanding Wilds mechanic: wild symbols that land during a spin expand to cover their entire reel, and landing three scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the same base-game spin awards 10 free spins in which expanding wilds can appear more frequently, driving most of the game’s bigger payouts.
Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead runs at a 96.29% default RTP (with 94.22%, 91.21%, 87.26% and 84.26% configurations also available), is rated high volatility, and has a maximum win of 5,000x the stake — matching Book of Dead’s own ceiling. As Play’n GO’s own character extension of the Rich Wilde franchise into a new protagonist, it sits closer to a direct successor than an unrelated reskin.
